Hi Duncan, thank you for all the valuable information that you share with us its awesome and so are you! I am experimenting with a windrow for the winter.  I have made an enclosure with hay about 12 feet long by 2 feet wide. I am hoping the hay will act as insulation. I doubled black plastic with holes to cover the windrow. It is cold out and I hope and pray all my worms are fairly warm.  I have layered them with manure hay leaves seaweed and lots of table scraps coffee grinds etc….. I check on them about every 4 days. My hope is that they keep working through the winter so I can have lots of compost in the spring to sell. I am having a hard time finding a soil thermometer that is wireless do you know where I can purchase one?  I have also ordered a heating cable to run through them just in case the hay is not enough. Is there anyone else out there done a windrow with hay?
