does anyone know if your compost pile goes anaerobic if you can change to aerobic by mixing it up?any help would be appreciated.   thanx  joeConfused

The answer is a definite yes, Joe.  Truly anaerobic bacteria cannot handle oxygen and facultative aerobes (those that can go either way) will work aerobically if oxygen is available.  Turning the piles, keeping moisture levels just right, and ensuring that the consistency is loose enough, will ensure that aerobic conditions predominate.
